ABOUT US
The Village Community is a non-profit, service organization founded by families who have young adult children who are intellectually and developmentally disabled. Our mission is to create a place where people with intellectual disabilities are nurtured and valued, a place where they will be engaged in all aspects of their lives, learning and working alongside their lifelong friends, family, and community members.

Participating families have a corresponding desire to advocate and to be active participants in the choice of services, daily activities, and long-term well-being of their dependent child.

We are extremely invested and motivated. Our Board of Directors is made up of parents of members of The Village Community. They are willing to make immense sacrifices for the betterment of the organization. These families have spent thousands of dollars and thousands of volunteer hours on this project, and will continue to do so in order to ensure its continued success. In addition, we are highly motivated by the positive changes we have seen in our young adults as they have enjoyed new experiences at The Village Community.

Our programs offer highly-engaging, client-centered experiences for each of our members. Participants’ lives are enriched through a variety of unique community activities, which occur both onsite and offsite. We are cultivating long-term, rewarding relationships by making The Village Community open, accessible and welcoming to our surrounding community.
